In the world of celebrity perfumes its not all about the juice. Not surprisingly, the importance of packaging and promotional material is huge. I've found that many celebrity perfume lines have a dedicated website which can be interactive and fun.
Harajuku Lovers
The Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers fragrance is presented in the cutest Japanese figurine bottles. There are 5 perfumes characters in the collection - Baby, Music, Love, Lil' Angel and G. If you collect kimmidolls you won't be able to resist these adorable bottles.
The Harajuku Lovers website is also a lot of fun. When you visit the website, choose the option to Create Own Style and you are presented with a cute Japanese character. Change the colour and style of her hair, fashion and shoes. Give your style a name and then save it to the Wicked Style Gallery where others can choose to love your style. I named mine Kitty, isn't she gorgeous?
The Harjuku Lovers Website is worth a look and great for procrastinating but it does take a little while to load.
Lollipop Bling
Another fun celebrity perfume website is for Mariah Carey's Lollipop Bling fragrance collection. On this website there is a 3D Experience where you use your webcam to see yourself in lollipop bling world. You can send a CandyGram to a friend and play a game where you collect bling from a candy belt. The Lollipop Bling website is another fantastic time waster.
Reb'l Fleur
The Reb'l Fleur fragrance by Rihanna doesn't have the sugary appeal of Lollipop Bling and Harajuku Lovers. It plays a dramatic advertisement with a message of bad versus good. The interactive video commercial starts in the middle which is the crossover from good to bad. It has a 'bad' ending but unlike real life you can go back.
The Reb'l Fleur website for Rihanna's perfume - 'Bad feels so good' opposing 'Good feels so bad'.

Its exciting news for many Jennifer Aniston fans in the US as they are now able to buy her debut perfume for the first time!
Prior to the UK launch of the fragrance it had been announced that the name of the perfume would be Lolavie but there was a last minute name change as there was concern that the name may be confused with that of another perfume. The perfume was released with the nameJennifer Aniston leaving no question for fans of the popular actress.
There was no mistake made with the choice of location for the perfume launch as the perfume sold out that day. Jennifer Aniston launched her first celebrity perfume last July at Harrods department store in the UK. Since then the perfume has only been available for purchase in the UK.
Its been a long wait but Jennifer Aniston Eau de Parfum can now be purchased in the US from Sephora online. The fragrance will also be available in Sephora stores from late March 2011.
Where can I buy Jennifer Aniston perfume?
- Harrods, Boots and The Perfume Shop in the UK
- Sephora in the US but only online for now, it will be available in Sephora stores late March according to their website.
- The rest of us will have to wait a little longer.

Fantasy
It started with Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely. So what was the next stop on my celebrity perfume adventure?
My experience with Lovely had me reconsidering my low opinion of celebrity perfumes. Maybe they weren't as bad as I thought after all. So I went for the most stereotypical pop superstar celebrity that I knew with a range of fragrances: who else but Britney Spears? I read a few reviews of her fragrances and became interested in Fantasy, which is the second fragrance endorsed by the popstar. Fantasy, so I read, represents a more grown up Britney Spears. Surprisingly the consumer reviews were from more mature women who had started wearing the perfume after being introduced to it by their daughters. The professional reviews weren't bad either saying that it was better than they had expected. After reading the reviews I felt I wouldn't be entirely wasting my money.
The packaging also interested me with an opaque pink, round bottle embedded with crystals (I do like crystals). I wouldn't say I really like the bottle but it is different and trying different things is part of what my experimentation with celebrity perfumes is all about.

A perfume connoisseur I am not, my nose is still developing but I think it is the cupcake accord that differentiates Fantasy and appeals to me.
Britney Spears Fantasy is now part of my perfume collection, I wear it often and get a thrill when I'm complemented on my scent.

I'm a Celebrity Perfume Convert
Many people associate celebrity perfumes with poor quality and I used to be one of them. However I am a celebrity perfume convert. The turning point for me was the release of Sarah Jessica Parker's first fragrance Lovely. Being a Sex In The City fan for many years I thought I should at least try the SJP perfume. After all the target market for this perfume isn't teenage girls. SJP is stylish, fashionable and classy and she wouldn't put her reputation on the line by promoting a cheap perfume of inferior quality. Of course Sarah Jessica Parker's perfume isn't cheap, it's at the high end of the celebrity perfume price range. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" and this is the case with Lovely. Its a gorgeous scent with fantastic staying power. Its not overpowering but a soft beautiful fragrance which lingers all day.I tested it, I liked it and I bought it! Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely was my first celebrity perfume purchase but it wasn't my last...
